Not nearly in the hiking shape I was in before, but it felt so great! I did my favorite trail and ended up grinning for 15 miles. Brit's climbing partner's husband was with us this time, so we made good meals for dinner and breakfast!

This is the neatest I've ever seen the bear box: proof that Bill and I packed it!

Grinning! I am so thankful to be healing and for the opportunity to be here!

Bill and I made ratatouille, mushroom rice, pork, and corn. Delicious!

I was up pretty early this morning, so I enjoyed a quiet walk...

Weekend fun

Yesterday we went out to Stockton to see Brit's brother and sister in law and hear their band play: they were really good!

Today I got to see Stephanie, Jennifer, and Chris for brunch as they all passed through San Francisco, which was so fun!

After some basic maintenance, I went on my first bike ride since June! At 33 miles, it felt pretty short, but I am so happy to be able to slowly get back into the things I love!

Sad trombone

Brit humored me and drive out (90 minutes!) to the ocean last night to see the meteor shower. Despite weather reports that it would be clear, it was so foggy and cloudy that we couldn't see anything! We got home around 2am and could see more stars in the parking lot in the middle of Oakland than at the ocean!

Day at the Beach

Brit decided to do a little bouldering until the rock flaked off and bonked him in the head!

We made it home early enough for me to make zucchini bread!

I'm back!

I'm slow, but I'm back! I got the ok from the physical therapist to return to jogging slowly and today I jogged for the first time in nearly two months. It was about 13 minutes slower than my relaxed pace before, but it felt sooo good!

I'm so blessed!

My best friend from Ohio Ashley is here visiting her cousin, aunt, and me this week. We spent yesterday relaxing by the pool in between a tasty brunch and delicious dinner and were all over the place today!

We began with an early morning among the redwoods

Those are really big trees!

Next we went to Stinson Beach (I forgot to take photos), and then to Sausalito for lunch and some sunshine!

My bridge has been hiding under her cloak of fog the entire time Ashley has been here, so we were very happy to have a clear day to drive and walk across it!

It was an exhausting but wonderful day!

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

I took the day to explore the recently reopened SF MoMA. What a great idea!

Aquarium

Most of the Calder mobiles are in a gallery that opens onto a terrace. Every time the doors opened or closed, the mobiles would dance (and elicit excitement from everyone in the gallery)
